Assistant Professor – Agribusiness

Morrison School of Agribusiness – W. P. Carey School of Business

Arizona State University

The Morrison School of Agribusiness in the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank starting Fall 2025.

Essential Functions: The candidate must develop and maintain a nationally and internationally recognized research program focused on addressing business and economic issues in the food industry and agricultural economy, teach related undergraduate and graduate level courses, contribute to curriculum and program development, advise graduate and honors students, and participate in professional and university service.  Appointment is a nine-month tenure track position.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: 1) A Ph.D. in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, Economics, or closely related field from an accredited institution.  ABD candidates must have degree completed by the position start date.  2) Evidence of a research interest in an area of agribusiness that supports the Morrison School of Agribusiness mission. 

Desired Qualifications: Demonstrated teaching experience in either a face-to-face and/or online environments; academic interest in teaching courses related to food and agricultural policy analysis, food supply chains, data analytics, and applied econometrics; a willingness to seek competitively-funded research; to work in trans-disciplinary teams to address business, economic, and policy issues facing domestic and global food supply chains and the natural resource sectors critical to the global food system; expertise in the use of quantitative methods such as but not limited to applied econometrics, operations research, big data analytics, machine learning, or other methods; a demonstrated interest in using quantitative analysis in addressing various problems in the food and agribusiness value chain and a willingness to engage with the food and agribusiness industry.
