The ideal candidate will have current NIH or equivalent funding. Candidates should be qualified and prepared to teach in the School of Health’s undergraduate and graduate programs.

The successful candidate will become part of the multidisciplinary School of Health that consists of three departments and approximately 35 full-time faculty with a wide-ranging portfolio of scholarly interests across the basic sciences to the social sciences, public health, and health policy. Based in the oldest Catholic, Jesuit University in the United States, the School of Health offers undergraduate and graduate education that is deeply rooted in the liberal arts and sciences with a focus on the formation of students to improve health for the common good. The school is a focal point for population health research and teaching within Georgetown University Medical Center and the university more broadly.

The successful candidate will become a member of the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center in the Cancer Prevention and Control Program. The Cancer Prevention and Control Program, which includes 67 members from 8 departments across Georgetown University, has three overarching aims: 1) identifying novel cancer risk factors and biomarkers, 2) optimizing prevention and screening efforts, and, 3) improving outcomes of cancer treatment and survivorship. Cross-cutting themes include cancer health equity, translating genomics to the broader public, simulation modeling to inform cancer policy, and cancer and aging. A federally-funded center on tobacco product regulation is co-located in the program. In addition, program faculty hold key instructional and leadership roles across Georgetown University. The Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center is an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center which includes the John Theurer Cancer Center of Hackensack Meridian Health in Hackensack, New Jersey, Lombardi’s CCSG research consortium partner. Lombardi’s clinical partner is MedStar Health in the District of Columbia and Maryland.
